We can’t stand getting a fresh manicure and then 30 minutes later, while reaching for something in our bag, we’ve chipped our perfectly polished nails. A chipped manicure is just as bad as getting lipstick on your teeth! And then (if you’re obsessive like us), you spend the rest of your day looking at the chipped polish, worried other people will notice, and vowing never to do a bold color again!

If you know what we mean, you need to try a GEL MANICURE. A gel manicure is more expensive than a regular manicure, but the payoff is worth it. For 1) your polish won’t chip and it can last up to two weeks and 2) that glossy-just-left-the-nail-salon-look last for weeks, too! The only downside — you have to go back to the salon to get the gel polish removed as regular nail polish remover won’t cut it.

This weekend we got gels! Feven got 1 layer of OPI Fire Red and 1 layer OPI Big Apple Red (she saw a coffee table and dining room art work that inspired her color combo), and Helena got  Lincoln Park After Dark (she wanted something edgy like this dress). Like the rules we wrote about in our ’50 Shades of Funny Bunny’, we decided to go with these colors per-the-season.

So, jazz it up for the holidays and get your twinship bombshell on! Don’t be afraid to add some color! And if you live in LA, here are two places we recommend getting a gel manicure:

Wynn Nail Spa and

The Painted Nail

Gel L.OV.E

    • Thanks for the tip! We’re going to have to try that one! We have to admit, we’re not sure if we can do it ourselves, but maybe we can take turns. #twinship!
