Twinship Fav Books

We once read, “Being smart is sexy, so don’t play dumb.” To us, maintaining a balance of the mind, body, and soul defines beauty.  Instead of spending hours on the internet or watching back-to-back episodes of Real Housewives (or maybe that’s just us?), we encourage you to expand your imagination and lose yourself to the words on the page in a world created by exceptional authors.

As Dr. Seuss once said, ” The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”  Here are some of our favorite books that inspire us.

  2. Always looking for book suggestions, thanks ladies! Prolly the book that has stuck with me the most since I read it is The Happiness Project, just about the day to day things that we can do to make us shine brighter 🙂

    • Thank for the wonderful suggestion. We will certainly try it. The Ice Hotel is a personal fav. MC Foley is a gifted author and her novel is being adapted by the Oscar nominated writers of THE FIGHTER. Love, love The Faults in Our Stars, get ready to shed the tears, but you can balance it with Naked which is brilliantly funny.

A friend of mine and I enjoyed reading ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ by Khaled Hosseini. He is also the author of ‘Kite Runner.’ I had a kindle and when I would read a book on it I felt like I was missing something. I realized that I love holding a book in my hand and turning the pages. Hopefully we don’t lose books all together to technology =(
I have been looking for a new book I am thinking ‘The Life of Pi.’ I know the movie has great ratings so I am sure the book will be GREAT!

    • Ari, we can’t agree more with you! We love holding books and being able to turn the pages and being able to mark the pages with notes. Loved Kite Runner, so ‘Splendid Suns’ in our book list. ‘Life of Pi, is a great choice too. Haven’t read it, but loved the film.

That pic is cool! love you ladies. One of the best books I’ve ever read- and I hate being cliche for saying it, is the Alchemist. Definitely a MUST read – and re-read. Love that you both promote beauty and BRAINS! what good is a house, if the lights aren’t turned on and no one is home?! #justsayin

    • Love that–what good is a house line.
Yes, The Alchemist is one of our fav reads too and it’s not a cliche to say so. We can’t tell you enough how much Paulo Coelho words resound in our minds. xoxo #twinship

They say, “Guys don’t make passes with girls who wear glasses,” but juding from your post/photos, I bet to differ! Smart ‘n sexy = potent combo! #twinship

  9. […] Maybe it’s because we’re 80′ s babies, but once we walked by this cool graffiti wall across the street from LACMA, we just had to snap a picture! It’s really that simple and actually a little…well…vein. And here’s the not-so-vien part…that “cool graffiti wall”  is a section of the original Berlin Wall. Art in the street! […]

I loved The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns too! Made me cry. The Memory Keepers Daughter and My Sisters Keeper was great. My Sisters Keeper the book was completely different than the movie. As teenager-ish as they are the Hunger Games trilogy was really fun to read. I have an obsession with the Alex Cross series from James Patterson. The book “A Million Pieces” was amazing and I was really intrigued that it was the authors true story but it came out later that he made up the story…still a good book.
