Although we consider Los Angeles “home”, Rochester, NY is where we grew up. A few weeks ago we took a trip to our real home in Upstate to visit our family and decided to take a few photos to share with you all.
To those who are not familiar with Upstate NY weather in May — it’s touch and go. And, yes, tis the season for the oh-so-popular Lilac Festive, but we spent most of our trip in doors catching up on Bravo TV OR in our winter coats walking our family dog, Miles. Yeah, it was like that.
It’s funny, we spent most of our high school years counting down the days of when we could leave Rochester for other things, like college. But…then…every time we leave, without fail, a sense of nostalgia takes over making it hard to say goodbye. Maybe it’s our mom’s home cooking, our dad’s insightful conversation…Wegmans…or maybe it’s that Cheers feeling we get, you know, “where everybody knows your name.”
In retrospect, as much as we wanted to leave for the big city, it’s nice to come from a small town with a big heart.
Here are some pictures of our trip.
xoxo,

P.S. It’s been said that Eastman Kodak chose Rochester, NY as Kodak’s main head quarters because of the city’s grey weather. He sure wasn’t lying about the grey weather part!
