A couple of weeks ago we attended Malan Breton show at  LA Fashion Week where we met, Hanan, a volunteer of the show, an Ethiopian aspiring stylist and artist who recognized The Twinship from our blog. I guess you can say it was our “first fan” encounter, but actually, we were so excited that she followed our blog…we ended up being a fan of, Hanan!

At the show we asked, Hanan, how she heard of us and what she liked most about our blog:  “I like how classic and simple your style is and that you’re good role models. You both are very motivating and inspire me.” TEARS! Helena, had a “Oprah moment” hugged, Hanan, and was so touched, that she suggested, Hanan, style The Twinship.

Truth be told — as it relates  to our style — we’re a bit controlling. We’ve had a few people attempt to “style” us, but felt lost in their vision of us. So, with that apprehension in the back of our minds, we asked that, Hanan,  shop our individual closets and style us with our existing wardrobe.

You would think, shopping your closet would result in the same look, but that wasn’t the case for us!  With Hanan’s suggestions, we wore our blouses backwards (which actually looked better),  got out our old fall coats circa 2002, wore deep fall lipsticks from MAC,  bold earrings (that were not pearls or studs), and pulled our hair back in a West African looking bun! Bombshells, you know we rarely wear our hair up with a bold lip color, but, with that said, we  LOVED IT.

Thank you, Hanan, for opening our “style-mind” with our OWN wardobe. Your fresh preceptive proved that, you don’t have to go shopping for a new look…you can literally shop your closet  and reinvent your style with a priceless  imagination.

We are so humbled and honored that we could inspire you to follow your dreams and stay the course. After all, that is a very Twinship thing to do!
