Twinship Tips — Date Night

2 Cents, Closet, Fashion

After reading our post Twinship Date Night: Stark Bar at LACMA — one reader wrote us asking advice on what to wear on a date?

Well, growing up The Twinship was put on “habesha lock down,” where our schedules consisted of: school, part-time jobs, and then back home to do homework. Keeping us sheltered resulted in us not understanding the “dating world” until we graduated college and moved to a big city!

In retrospect —  we understand why our parents sheltered us so much — let’s face it, there are some crazy people out there! But, as we’ve gotten older and more mature, we’ve learned a few lessons and tips about dating along the way.

Twinship tips for a classy and fashionable date night:

Tip #1: First impressions are lasting impressions  — wear something that isn’t too boring or too revealing. Feven likes dresses that hug her curves and go just below the knees. Helena opts for a flirty-feminine dress with a tailored waistline.

Tip#2: Make sure to wear comfortable heels that you’re confident walking in! a) You don’t want to look like a hot mess in 10″ inch heels taking baby steps to the car or dinner table. And,  b) You never know how the night will end — be prepared to hightail out of there, bombshell.

Tip #3: Natural beauty is bs! We’re not saying go to MAC and cake on the makeup but look like you put some effort in. Wear makeup that highlights one of your features. For example, we love bold liquid eyeliner with a nude lipstick.

Tip #4: Organize your handbag  — you want to look as polished and together as possible —  be sure to carry: your cell, mints, cash (just in case you have to take a cab home) I.D. and your house keys.

Tip#5: Scent is the strongest sense tied to memory, so rock your fav perfume — just don’t smell like you’ve bathed in it.

So, judging by our “Twinship Tips,” you can see we’ve been on one shady date or two — bottom line be confident, be classy and be in control.

And of course, here are some photos we snapped of ourselves in dresses we’d totally wear on a date night!
