A blog post from last year, but remains relevant today…

Living in L.A. we are often surrounded by interesting street art like this incredible and colorful mural by brazilian street artist, Eduardo Kobra. So, it seems fitting on this special day of service, we showcase this mural which honors one of the most transformational figures in the Civil Rights movement, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Let this day be a reminder of Dr. King’s message of peace, love and hope!

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

–Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our beauty philosophy is deeply rooted in our earliest memories as political refugees from Eritrea. Beauty to us is grace and resilience. As twin sisters, we share everything including our love for makeup and in particular eyeliner! We will never forget our teenage years as cashiers in high school saving up enough money to buy our favorite beauty brands.

  1. What i like most about your blog is the fact that one can feel, through the pictures, your sisterly love. I think it’s a twin kind of thing cause my cousins are like that too like their mum says when one is sick it’s the other who feels the symptoms and explains them. I love your bond.
Who would’ve thought years ago that street painting will be considered a proper art and not just a pastime. Your pop of Ankara blues fit well with the mural and you are as beautiful as ever.
