The Twinship loves a good deal! Wanting to explore, Los Angeles, we gave ourselves a twinship clothing challenge aka $25 Holla! (que Heather from Real Housewives of NYC) challenge. After consulting a few friends, Santee Alley in downtown Los Angeles seemed to make the most sense for this adventure.
So, last Saturday morning, we made our way downtown to the extremely busy and wildly packed Santee Alley. Most people who live in Los Angeles, know that parking is crucial–a great parking spot can make one’s day. That said, parking downtown wasn’t easy– after circling the block several times, and passing ‘lot full signs,’ we eventually found a spot a few blocks away.
Rushing towards the crowd like we were on Amazing Race, we found ourselves in the heart of Santee Alley, screaming babies, bacon wrapped hot dogs, and clothes that you see on drag queens hanging around Santa Monica Blvd (you know what we mean). Nervous that we couldn’t make our challenge, with $25 in hand, we finally discovered the clothing store System on S. Santee Street. Check out Feven’s $25 Holla outfit inspired by Lana Del Rey, “Like an American” and Helena’s $25 Holla ensemble inspired by Fela (the musical).
If you’re in Los Angeles, we recommend going to Santee Alley on the weekends between 9am-2pm and bring cash…don’t ask why….
